Dedicated to those who have
known the
passion ...
Hello from the starlit and dusty files of Jim
Brennan, unlikely midnight poet and giver of words held close. I thought it
would be a good time to share a few of my works with those who might enjoy them
for a sometime , a Valentine-like time, or whenever. Lovers Across Time was composed in
the near darkness over the course of several nights just prior a St. Valentine's day many years ago. My spirit was
really in this, with a personal deadline to see it completed by
an approaching February 14th. And
its life burned within me like a lighthouse beacon, piercing the velvet
darkness of the dim night in which I worked, to eventually become a star of its
own. I would like to change a few lines, but for its own sake will leave it be;
imperfect, a reflection, stirring my soul.
Lovers Across Time
A very dusty one (but somehow a dampness
prevails). Little was it suspected at the time of its writing that I would
sail the seas, breathe its mist, and know fellow Naval Aviators who now rest on its dark silent bottom:
forever embraced by the sea.
Crust of The Earth
A mystical bird from their past allows two lonely
people to discover the continuity of life in the moments approaching a
Valentines day evening.
Continuity
An old sailor sits atop a clif overlooking the ocean and relives the past. Dedicated to dad.
